Contribution rules

1. I am at least eighteen years old.

2. This contribution is made from my own funds, and funds are not being provided to me by another person or entity for the purpose of making this contribution.

3. I am making this contribution with my own personal credit card and not with a corporate or business credit card or a card issued to another person.

4. I am a U.S. citizen or lawfully admitted permanent resident (i.e., green card holder).

• There is a contribution limit of $5,000, per election, for contributors other than political action committees and $10,000, per election for political action committees.

• Political contributions are not tax deductible.

• Contributions from corporations are prohibited under Texas State Law.

• Individuals that are currently involved in a lawsuit with the City of Houston are prohibited from making contributions to city political campaigns.

• Individuals listed as Prohibited Political Contributors or those in "blackout" due to a consideration of a contract with the city may not contribute.

• Campaign finance law requires that we report the name, address, principal employer and occupation of any contributor who contributes $500 or more in any reporting period.
